A pair of 'shell' lounge chairs designed by Carlo Hauner and Martin Eisler, ca 1955. The frame is made of black painted iron. The upholstery is in a light linen blend fabric. Due the diagonal lines and the thinness of the frame, the shells have an almost floating appearance. Especially outside of Brazil these chairs are rare to find.

Carlo Hauner and Martin Eisler are the duo behind 'Forma', the Brazilian Mid-Century Furniture company. With the rising interest in Brazilian design in recent years, slowly Hauner & Eisler are also getting the attention they deserve. We are sure many more interesting pieces will find the spotlight during the coming years.

In good vintage condition. Some parts of the frame are bent a bit. Plastic caps have been replaced. Re-upholstered.
