This rare bookcase was made early 1960s by cabinetmaker J.H. Johansens Eftf. v/ Henning Jensen and was presented at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition at the Designmuseum Denmark in 1961.

Like a reviewer at the time wrote: "The architect Grete Jalk has designed some interesting sectional storage units. The design of the bookcases make allowance for the fact that they will be used for other things than to just provide shelving for a few books. Today storage furniture is often used as a place for different bric-a-brac". Which is ofcourse still very true today.
